iLok2 or iLok3 device
The most reliable form of authorisation, an iLok is a device which plugs into a USB port on your machine. It doesn't require an internet connection but must be plugged into your machine at all times while using your Sonnox plug-ins - Authorises all Sonnox plug-ins
iLok Cloud authorisation
Most Sonnox G5 licences can be authorised to the Cloud, which means a physical iLok USB dongle is not required if you have a reliable internet connection. The Sonnox Elite range (EQ, Dynamics, Inflator, Limiter, Reverb, SuprEsser, TransMod), Dynamic EQ, Envolution, Drum Gate and the Toolbox range (VoxDoubler, Claro, and ListenHub) can all be authorised in the Cloud. Pro Codec, Codec Toolbox, and the Sonnox Live bundle are not compatible with iLok Cloud.
Machine authorisation
Some other plug-in manufacturers allow licences to be authorised to a specific computer instead of an iLok device. We only allow Machine authorisation for our Toolbox range (VoxDoubler, Claro, and ListenHub) and Codec Toolbox. No other Sonnox plug-ins can be authorised to a specific computer.

iLok1
The newest generation of Sonnox plug-ins, G5, are incompatible with original iLok devices. If you are upgrading, please be aware that your G5 licences will not work on the old iLok1. You can continue to use iLok1 to authorise legacy licences.

When you log in to the iLok Licence Manager, you'll probably see one or multiple different icons in the left hand panel. These icons represent active Devices that you can authorise licences to. Please note that only Devices that are currently online will be accessible - these locations will appear in a solid black colour. Other inaccessible Devices will appear greyed out, and you won't be able to use or transfer the licences activated to those locations until the associated Device is connected to your computer.

If you own the G4 versions of any of these plug-ins, you will need to upgrade to G5 to be able to use Cloud authorisation. For more information, please read How do I upgrade my plug-in to the latest version?
