Should I buy a second hand Sonnox plug-in?

Modified on Wed, 17 Jul at 4:00 PM

Before purchasing a Sonnox licence from an unauthorised seller (e.g. eBay), there are some things which you should know!

Here's what to check first

  • All Sonnox plug-ins, apart from the Codec Toolbox and VoxDoubler, require the licence to be activated to an iLok2 or iLok3 USB device.
  • The latest Sonnox licences include the G5 tag in their name and support the latest 64-bit plug-in formats.
  • G4 licences only support our old 32-bit software which was last updated in 2011.
  • If you purchase second-hand G4 licences they will need to be upgraded for 64-bit support. This will cost GBP 15 per plug-in for Native 64-bit support, or GBP 50 for AAX DSP support.

Licence re-registration costs

As of now, we have waived all re-registration charges for new owners purchasing second-hand Sonnox licences. However, all the above fees will still apply.

If you have any questions about this, please just create a support ticket and we'll be happy to help!
