How to take a free trial

You can try any Sonnox plug‑in free for 15 days before buying. This guide explains how to request and activate your trial licence to explore the plug‑in’s features so you can explore the plug‑in’s features in your own setup.

Prerequisites: 

Before starting your trial, make sure you have:

• A free iLok account (create one at www.ilok.com).

• The latest version of iLok License Manager installed (download from www.ilok.com).

• An internet connection for licence activation.

• (Optional) An iLok USB 2 or 3 key if you want USB‑based activation.

Ways to Start Your Trial

Option 1 – From a Product Page (Recommended)

1. Visit the Sonnox website and open the product page for the plugin you want to try.

2. Click Take a Free Trial.

3. You’ll receive an email with installation and activation instructions, including alink to download the installer.

4. Install the plug‑in on your Mac or Windows computer.
5. Launch your DAW and insert the plug‑in on a track.
6. When the iLok activation screen appears, click Try.
7. Sign in to your iLok account.
8. Choose where to activate your trial:

   1. iLok USB key (portable)

   2. This Computer (Machine Authorisation)

   3. iLok Cloud Session (requires an active internet connection)
      
      
      

Option 2 – From the installer page

1. Download the plug‑in installer from the Sonnox Installer Page.

2. Install the plug‑in on your Mac or Windows computer.

3. Launch your DAW and insert the plug‑in on a track.

4. When the iLok activation screen appears, click Try.

5. Sign in to your iLok account.

6. Choose where to activate your trial:

   • iLok USB key (portable)

   • This Computer (Machine Authorisation)

   • iLok Cloud Session (requires an active internet connection)

What Happens Next

• A 15‑day trial licence will be deposited into your iLok account and activated in your chosen location.

• The plug‑in is now ready for you to evaluate, with all features enabled.

If You’ve Already Taken a Trial

• Contact Sonnox Support and request another trial licence.

• Provide your iLok User ID in your request.

• Please note that Sonnox support is not open on weekends; we’ll respond as soon as possible.
