Drum Gate 2 FAQs - MIDI

Modified on Wed, 18 Feb at 10:38 AM

Drum Gate 1 provided a Realtime MIDI output, why is this not included in Drum Gate 2?

This feature was removed in Drum Gate 2 due to inconsistent results across multiple DAWs. This is due to the different ways in which DAWs handle MIDI event timing. The MIDI capture and drag workflow still available, offers consistent results across all the DAWs we have completed testing in.

I used the capture and drag functions, but the first note is happening earlier than the transient

- Check for any audible signals being detected by the gate before the first drum hit. In some scenarios, Drum Gate 2 may be mistaking noise or bleed present at the time of playback as additional transients.

How do I stop this from happening?

- When the 'Capture' feature is engaged, we'd recommend starting playback at least a bar or a couple of beats before the first transient to avoid this from happening.
