iLok Cloud lets you run your Sonnox plugins without needing a physical iLok USB or Machine Authorisation. 
Your licences are activated over the internet through your iLok account. 
All current Sonnox plugin licences support iLok Cloud, except the Live Bundle for VENUE. 
An active internet connection is required while using iLok Cloud.

Prerequisites

Before you can activate a licence to the iLok Cloud, you will need the following:

• A valid iLok account (create one here).
• The latest version of iLok License Manager installed (download here).

Step‑by‑Step Guide

1. Check That Your Licence Supports iLok Cloud
   • Open iLok License Manager.
   • Find your Sonnox licence.

   • Look for the iLok Cloud icon

     

     Open an iLok Cloud Session

     • In iLok License Manager, go to File → Open Cloud Session.

     • Sign in with your iLok account credentials.

        

2. Choose Your Mode 
   iLok Cloud has two modes:

   Automatic Mode (default)

   • Any iLok Cloud‑compatible licence is automatically activated to the Cloud when you sign in.
   • Pros: Easy setup, quick switching between devices.
   • Cons: Less control — all licences appear in the Cloud by default.

   Managed Mode (manual control)

   • You choose which licences are activated in the Cloud, similar to selecting a USB or Machine location.
   • Pros: Full control over which licences are in the Cloud.

   • Must be enabled in Preferences → License Activation Mode.

      

3. Close the Session When Finished (optional)
   • In iLok License Manager, go to File → Close Cloud Session to end access on that device.

Troubleshooting

• If the licence isn't showing in the Cloud:
  • Check that your licence supports iLok Cloud (look for the icon).
  • Update iLok License Manager to the latest version.
  • Close and reopen your Cloud session.
• If your DAW says the plugin isn't authorised:
  • Make sure your Cloud session is open before launching your DAW.
  • Confirm you have an active internet connection.
• Live Bundle VENUE user:

  • iLok Cloud is not supported. Use USB activation.

A: Yes, iLok Cloud requires an active internet connection whenever you are using your plug‑in.
