Pro Tools 2026.11 introduces a significant improvement for Windows users with the addition of native HiDPI scaling within Pro Tools itself.
While this is a welcome enhancement, our testing has identified compatibility issues between Avid's new DPI scaling implementation and current versions of Sonnox plugin GUIs on Windows.
Current Status
Our internal testing with Pro Tools 2026.11 on Windows confirms that when Avid's native DPI scaling is enabled, Sonnox plugin interfaces are not currently stable.
Supporting this new functionality requires updates across our Windows plugin range, along with the necessary testing and validation. As a result, compatibility will not be available immediately.
Recommended Configuration
For the best experience when using Sonnox plugins with Pro Tools 2026.11 on Windows, we recommend:
- Do not enable Avid's native DPI scaling feature.
- Use Windows DPI scaling instead:
- Right-click the Pro Tools application icon.
- Select Properties.
- Open the Compatibility tab.
- Configure High DPI settings so that scaling is determined by the system.
- Continue using any scaling options provided within Sonnox plugins where appropriate.
At this time, this remains the most reliable method for scaling both Pro Tools and Sonnox plugins without encountering compatibility issues.
Important Notes
- Pro Tools 2026.11 allows Avid's DPI scaling to be enabled on a per-plugin basis.
- Windows compatibility scaling and Avid's native DPI scaling cannot be used together. If Pro Tools detects conflicting scaling methods, it may prompt you to disable one of them.
We are actively assessing the changes introduced in Pro Tools 2026.11 and what is required for full compatibility. We will provide further updates as support for Avid's native DPI scaling becomes available across the Sonnox product range.
