Following the release of Cubase 16, we have identified an issue affecting the graphical displays used by our Claro and Oxford Dynamic EQ Cubase 16: Issues Affecting Claro and Oxford Dynamic EQ Displays on later versions of macOS.
During our compatibility testing, we found that the FFT-based spectrum displays used by these plugins can become unstable within Cubase 16. This behaviour was not present in Cubase 15 and has been reproduced on our test systems.
What is affected?
The issue currently appears to be limited to the real-time graphical spectrum displays within:
- Claro
- Oxford Dynamic EQ
Users may experience visual instability, unexpected graphical behaviour, or display-related performance issues.
What is not affected?
At this time, we have not identified any issues affecting:
- Audio processing
- Session compatibility
- Preset loading and saving
- Plugin authorisation and licensing
The issue appears to be isolated to the plugins' graphical display components.
Current Status
Our development team is actively investigating the issue and comparing behaviour between Cubase 15 and Cubase 16 to identify the underlying cause.
We are also in contact with Steinberg to better understand any changes introduced in Cubase 16 that may be contributing to this behaviour.
Workarounds
At present, no permanent workaround has been identified. Users experiencing the issue may wish to continue working in Cubase 15 where the plugins have been verified to operate correctly.
Next Steps
We will provide further updates as soon as we have additional information from our investigation and can determine the most appropriate path forward.
Thank you for your patience while we work through this with urgency.
