Buying Sonnox Plugins from a Dealer or Reseller – How to Redeem Your Activation Key

If you’ve purchased a Sonnox plug‑in from a dealer or authorised reseller (e.g. Plugin Boutique, Sweetwater), you’ll receive a 12‑digit activation key.
This guide explains how to register your purchase on the Sonnox website, deposit your licence into your iLok account, and download your installer.

Note: The new sonnox.com account system is not yet integrated with dealer purchases. You will continue to use the mySonnox portal for registration until the transition is complete.


Prerequisites

  • Your 12‑digit Sonnox activation key (format: ABCD-EFGH-IJKL).

  • An iLok account (create free at www.ilok.com).

  • Your iLok User ID and iLok‑registered email address.


Step‑by‑Step Instructions

  1. Register your activation key

    • Go to the Sonnox Register Page.

    • Enter your activation key in the space provided.

    • Complete the registration form with your contact and iLok account details.

  2. Receive your Sonnox order confirmation email

    • After registering, you’ll receive an email with:

      • A link to deposit your licence into your iLok account.

      • A link to the Sonnox installer download page.

  3. Deposit your licence into your iLok account

    • Click the licence deposit link in your email.

    • Confirm your iLok User ID.

    • Click Deposit.

      • Important: Sonnox is not responsible for licences deposited into the wrong account. Double‑check your details before confirming.

  4. Download and install your plug‑in

    • After depositing, you’ll be redirected to the Sonnox installers page.

    • Choose your operating system (Windows or macOS).

    • Download and run the installer.


FAQs

Q: I created an account on the new Sonnox site but can’t see my dealer purchase history.
A: Dealer purchases are not yet visible in the new account system. Use the mySonnox portal for now.

Q: My Sonnox account says I have no licences after a dealer purchase.
A: Licences will only appear after they are deposited into your iLok account via the link in your Sonnox order confirmation email.

Q: I didn’t get my order confirmation email.
A: Check your spam/junk folders. Ensure your email inbox isn’t full and that your email address was entered correctly during registration. If needed, contact Sonnox Support during UK office hours.

Q: Is my activation key the same as an iLok authorisation key?
A: No. Your Sonnox activation key is only for use on the Sonnox website to register your licence. Sonnox licences are deposited directly into your iLok account.

Q: I bought from a third party but want a refund.
A: Refunds must be requested directly from your dealer, as your purchase contract is with them.
