Activating Your Sonnox Licence in iLok License Manager

After you’ve deposited your Sonnox licence into your iLok account, you need to activate it before your plug‑in will work in your DAW.


This guide explains how to activate your licence using iLok License Manager, whether you’re using Machine Authorisation, iLok Cloud, or iLok USB.


Prerequisites

  • Your Sonnox licence deposited in your iLok account.

  • The iLok License Manager application installed and up to date (download here).

  • Your Sonnox plug‑ins installed (download here).


Step‑by‑Step Solution

1. Open iLok License Manager

  1. Launch iLok License Manager.

  2. Sign in with your iLok account credentials.

  3. If you have multiple iLok accounts, confirm you are signed into the correct one — see [Do I Have More Than One iLok Account?].

2. Locate Your New Licence

  • Newly deposited licences will appear in bold under the Available tab.

3. Activate Your Licence

You can activate in two ways:

Option A – Drag and Drop

  • Drag the licence from the Available tab to your desired location in the left‑hand panel:

    • This Computer – Machine Authorisation

    • iLok USB – Portable hardware activation

    • iLok Cloud – Internet‑connected activation

Option B – Right‑Click Menu

  • Right‑click the licence → Activate → Select your desired activation location.

4. If Using iLok Cloud for the First Time

  • Open a Cloud session: File → Open Cloud Session in iLok License Manager.

  • Once the session is open, iLok Cloud will appear as an activation location.

5. Verify in Your DAW

  • Launch your DAW and load the Sonnox plug‑in.
