If you’ve purchased a Sonnox plug‑in from a dealer or authorised reseller (e.g. Plugin Boutique, Sweetwater), you’ll receive a 12‑digit activation key via email. You will need this to register your Sonnox licence(s).
Have Ready:
- Your 12‑digit Sonnox activation key (format:
ABCD-EFGH-IJKL). - An iLok account (if you don't have an iLok account, you can create one for free at www.ilok.com).
- If you already have an iLok account - Your iLok User ID and iLok registered email address.
Step‑by‑Step Instructions

Register your activation key
- Go to the Sonnox Register Page.
- Enter your activation key in the space provided.
- Complete the registration form with your contact and iLok account details.

Receive your Sonnox order confirmation email
- After registering, you’ll receive an email with:
- A link to deposit your licence into your iLok account.
- A link to the Sonnox installer download page.

Deposit your licence into your iLok account
- Click the licence deposit link in your email.
- Confirm your iLok User ID.
- Click Deposit.
Important: Sonnox is not responsible for licences deposited into the wrong account. Double‑check your details before confirming.

- After depositing, you’ll be redirected to the Sonnox installers page.
- Choose your operating system (Windows or macOS).
- Download and run the installer.
FAQ:
Q: I created an account on the new Sonnox site but can’t see my dealer purchase history.
A: Dealer purchases are not fully visible in the new account system yet. Please use the mySonnox portal until further notice.
Q: My Sonnox account says I have no licences after a dealer purchase.
A: Licences will only appear after they are deposited into your iLok account via the download link in your Sonnox order confirmation email.
Q: I didn’t get my order confirmation email.
A: Check your spam/junk folders. Ensure your email inbox isn’t full and that your email address was entered correctly during registration. If needed, contact Sonnox Support during UK office hours.
Q: Is my activation key the same as an iLok authorisation key?
A: No. Your Sonnox activation key is only for use on the Sonnox website to register your licence. Sonnox licences are deposited directly into your iLok account.
Q: Where can I find my Serial Number?
A: Product Serial Numbers relate to historic and dealer orders and can be found in a user's mySonnox account.
For direct Sonnox.com orders placed on or after 22 October 2024, Product Serial Numbers are no longer used. If you see a serial number in your mySonnox account, it is provided for reference only and has no role in licensing or activation.
Serial Numbers are not the same as activation keys issued by dealers.
Q: I bought from a third party but want a refund.
A: Refunds must be requested directly from your dealer, as your purchase contract is with them.
